Hawkings says Origin of Universe needs no God

If this guy is so smart, why doesn’t he just get up and walk?

Creation came ‘from nothing,’ not God: Stephen Hawking

In his newest book, renowned physicist Professor Stephen Hawking, shown here in June at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, says that God was not necessary for creation.

“Because there is a law such as gravity, the Universe can and will create itself from nothing,” the excerpt says. “Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the Universe exists, why we exist. It is not necessary to invoke God to … set the Universe going.”

  1. This words of this post where intentionally left in the provocative state they occurred in my mind. But I thought I should likely explain them to those who care to think beyond the shock. The point of this post is not, “I hate Hawkings. I am glad he is in a wheelchair. Serves him right.”

The point is this. This man spends much of his life seeking to remove from our minds the idea of the necessity of God, this most recent book being the capstone of that argument. And those who want to trust not in God place their fear, love and trust in man’s capacity to reason all and solve all.

And yet this man’s physical condition shows so evidently the limits of humanity’s ability to solve. So my statement that he should get up and walk means that if God is nothing and man is everything as he claims, don’t just say it, prove it.
