Perhaps you saw this on the news.
Yes. How to do Ecstasy Safely. Straight from the government. I am outraged. Well, not really. I wish I was. I wish I lived in a world where such a thing would be so odd that it would strike me as wildly out there. But in my mind this is nothing more than modern sex education philosophy loaned to another cause. They are going to do it anyway. Do it safe. Safe stupidity, that is the message. Sex, Drugs, and whatever flyer is next.
Will someone tell me when we gave up on our kids? When did we decide that the best they can do is to be safe screwups? Who was it that decided the bar should be lowered this far? I know people will call me naive, but I vow now again to not raise my children believing the best they can be is safe screwups. I would do this even if my kids were not in Christ, for even those not in Christ can make proper decisions in the world. But since they are in Christ, I will not act as if they are not. I will not just tell them how to safely sin their way through life. “Shall we remain in sin in order that grace may increase?” Look up the answer. Romans 6:1. It is not who we are. It is not who our kids are. When our children sin and are led to recognition of that rebellion, we will show them grace and mercy. But as they rise from absolution, we will tell them of who they are in Christ. More than conquerors. More than safe screwups.
