Thanksgiving

Puddles of mercy greet me

Do not jump over, they clamor

Soak your shoes through

Let your socks be saturated with grace

You have cried out,

And He has heard

Prayers pierced the sky

And His rain came forth.

The roads soft with this gift

Demanding all delay and dwell

Slow down and find gratitude

Pause and offer praise

You have cried out,

And He has heard

Prayers pierced the sky

And His rain came forth.

The fields wake up from slumber

Pushing forth life through the soil

Behold the work of the Lord

Life is here today

You have cried out

And He has heard

Prayers pierced the sky

And His rain came forth.

This water pointing to another

Water poured out in words

You are mine dear child

Life is here today

You have cried out,

And He has heard

Prayers pierced the sky

And His rain came forth.

One thought on “Thanksgiving

  1. Thanks! We here in NJ sent prayers for rain and received heavy rain Sunday night. First thing I did was thank God for answering our prayers. I know He will always take care of us and make sure that our food continues to grow in the gardens. If you are in the Mid-west, the rain is a very welcome relief for the farmers there, too.
    Thanks for sharing.
