Start your day off with prayer. A devotion will be posted six days a week. On Sunday, there is no devotion posted since we gather all together at 10:00am on that day. Please hit share to offer these devotions to your friends.
Psalm 70 (69 in the LXX) is another psalm I can quote from memory because of its use at both Small and Great Compline in the Eastern Church. The more I compare the psalm translation you use to what I know, it is clear that the ESV translation is just rife with poor choices of words and is too free with the translation.
Consider, for instance, that the in the psalm, your translation says “God is Great” while I say “The Lord be magnified.” Now those are two very disparate things and are not one in the same. The first is indicative statement while the second is hortatory.
I know that all the psalms are found in the LSB which you are encouraging your flock to purchase and use in their daily devotions. I know that ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ, but knowledge of poorly translated Scripture does not help one’s knowledge of Christ either.
