30 Days of Augsburg – Day 1 -Preface

Welcome. For the next thirty days I will be posting a portion (generally 1 Article) of the Augsburg Confession in audio format for you. The text is from Triglot Concordia: The Symbolical Books of the Evangelical Lutheran Church: German-Latin-English (St. Louis: Concordia Publishing House, 1921). These texts, and my audio files, are in the public domain and may be freely copied. All of these files, as they are published, will also be available to listen to and download by clicking the tab marked “Augsburg Confession Audio” above. Please share this site with others who might find these files useful. You can use the share button below to share the post on Facebook.

The Preface

Do you have an Ipod, Zune, or other device that can receives podcasts? Go to http://ihoppe.com/blog/acfeed/ to subscribe to a podcast that will deliver the files to you each day automatically. Use either the RSS Feed Button or Itunes button on the right hand column of that page.

I should also say that if you are new to the Confession, the Preface is likely the hardest section to follow just because of the vocabulary and its rootedness in history. Please stick with listening to the rest even if you find this portion difficult. Tomorrow’s post, the first article of the Confession, will be a much easier listen. Any suggestions are coveted: pastor@ihoppe.com.
