From the University to the Church: Homosexual “Hate Speech”

It starts in the universities, but it will end in the church. Professors silenced today. Pastors imprisoned tomorrow. I know many people think I am a little crazy to think this way. But I truly believe pastors will be thrown in jail in my lifetime for the simple statement that homosexuality is immoral. It would have been much longer had the church as a whole stood united on this issue of sexuality. But since most mainline protestant churches have left behind this teaching along with biblical authority, it will be much sooner. In fact, likely the liberal church will be called to testify against the faithful few. What should we do? Same as always. Trust in the Lord. Be Strengthened by Word and Sacrament. Trust that He will give us the words, not to avoid prison, but to convict the world.

University of Illinois Instructor Fired Over Catholic Beliefs

URBANA, Ill. — The University of Illinois has fired an adjunct professor who taught courses on Catholicism after a student accused the instructor of engaging in hate speech by saying he agrees with the church’s teaching that homosexual sex is immoral.
“Natural Moral Law says that Morality must be a response to REALITY,” he wrote in the e-mail. “In other words, sexual acts are only appropriate for people who are complementary, not the same.”
