From a Gen-Xer to the Baby Boomers

My generation is  not perfect by far.  But I am so sick of every politician from the Boomer generations coming out recently with their past drug use, their elicit affairs, and their endless string of marriages.  And what makes me more ill is that every reporter from that generation seems to sort of say, “Well, they are a boomer, what do you expect?”  Does your generation have no people of character to offer us to lead.  I cannot believe that, and figure that you are selling your generation short simply because of the guilt of many for their lives of sin.  Offer us a person of character and I might get excited.  Otherwise, I will simply wait for a person of character from my generation to lead.  We have them.  Maybe not a lot, but I refuse to make excuses for my generation like the boomers seem to revel in.  Character.  That is what I want.

  1. Phil,

We may not be political leaders, but we are boomers and I’d like to say people of character.

    Love your mom!

  2. Nice to see you visible mom! I consider you both boomers and people of character! Now where are people like you in politics? Maybe it is not a generational issue as much as it is that you seem to have to give up your character to become a politician.
