When the supreme courts makes a decision that is not 5-4, I might begin to believe that they have some integrity and therefore some credibility. Until then, I have to believe the wisdom of Solomon has perished.
This house is just the seat of political appointees paying back the favor of the appointment.  Maybe they should give up the robes and just wear either RNC or DNC T-shirts from now on. What a joke of justice.
Phil,
I think you are worrying about the wrong thing. You should be worried that four justices woke up that morning, went to work and decided that the constitution doesn’t mean what it says. That is a greater detriment to liberty than which party the justices may or may not belong to. Although Republicans and Democrats do differ on this issue, the fact that four justices who have sworn to uphold the constitution effectively say that the constitution is wrong and try to amend it by fiat rather than the amendment process (which is spelled out in the constitution. Maybe they will say that the constitution doesn’t mean what it says there too). Political parties are a problem, but a tyranny of the men in black is of greater concern to me and it should be to you as well.
I understand the danger of judicial legislation (which ought to be a oxymoron), but the truth remains, both sides use the court to protect their views rather than discern truth and deliver justice.
